چکیده
magnetic field B5F0( 1 3 , 1 3 , 1 3 ), using Monte Carlo simulation. There is a clear first-order phase transition with a latent heat of melting of about 0.11kBTm per superconducting grain at a melting temperature Tm'0.70J , where J is the intergrain coupling energy. We briefly discuss the possible relation of this transition to fluxlattice melting in high-Tc superconductors. @S0163-1829~96!00746-1#

Magnetization Jump in a Model for Flux Lattice Melting at Low Magnetic Fields
Using a frustrated XY model on a lattice with open-boundary conditions, we numerically study the magnetization change near a flux lattice melting transition at low fields. In both two and three dimensions, we find that the melting transition is followed at a higher temperature by the onset of large dissipation associated with the zero-field XY transition. It is characterized by the proliferatio...
متن کاملNature of Decoupling in the Mixed Phase of Extremely Type-ii Layered Superconductors
The uniformly frustrated layered XY model is analyzed in its Villain form. A decouple pancake vortex liquid phase is identified. It is bounded by both first-order and secondorder decoupling lines in the magnetic field versus temperature plane. These transitions, respectively, can account for the flux-lattice melting and for the flux-lattice depinning observed in the mixed phase of clean high-te...
متن کاملNature of the low-field transition in the mixed state of high-temperature superconductors
We have numerically studied the statics and dynamics of a model three-dimensional ~3D! vortex lattice at low magnetic fields. For the statics we use a frustrated 3D XY model on a stacked triangular lattice. We model the dynamics as a coupled network of overdamped resistively shunted Josephson junctions with Langevin noise. At low fields, there is a weakly first-order phase transition, at which ...
متن کاملFlux-line entanglement as the mechanism of melting transition in high-temperature superconductors in a magnetic field
The mechanism of the flux-line-lattice melting in anisotropic high-Tc superconductors in B ‖ ĉ is clarified by Monte Carlo simulations of the 3D frustrated XY model. The percentage of entangled flux lines abruptly changes at the melting temperature Tm, while no sharp change can be found in the number of loop excitations around Tm. Therefore, the origin of this melting transition is the entangle...
متن کاملUnified phase diagram for the three-dimensional XY model of a point-disordered type-II superconductor
We carry out extensive Monte Carlo simulations of the three-dimensional uniformly frustrated XY model with uncorrelated randomly perturbed couplings, as a model for the equilibrium behavior of an extreme type-II superconductor with quenched uncorrelated random point vortex pinning, in the presence of a uniform applied magnetic field. We map out the resulting phase diagram as a function of tempe...
